Well, it’s not even Dems that she goes after sometimes but I do get that.

“Conservative” did not always have the hateful connotation it now has.
People like Rush and Coulter and the Tea Party took that label being the new face of “conservatism”, appealing to the worst in American society and allowing the hidden hate to come forth in full flower.
The GOP let it happen, thinking they could control and channel it.

As you say, it’s not just the Dems, it’s anyone who does not embrace the hate.
