It’s such a chicken shit tactic. And the thing is if the WWII memorial had been vandalized during the shut down, these people would be the first to blame Obama for not “doing enough.” And honestly while I really do feel bad for the vets who were unable to visit the memorial, it’s pretty fucking pathetic that this is the narrative that teh right wing is making about the shutdown, especially one which they caused but not people who couldn’t get benefits.

The whole HURR HURR!!!!11!!! VETERANS CAN’T GET TO VISIT THERE MEMORIALS!!!1!!!! was STAGED by the GOP by bringing in plane loads of elderly veterans for a photo op AFTER they voted to shutdown the government.
