Why should my boss get to decide what I spend my money on?

That’s the thing these idiots forget. That health insurance they provide? It’s part of my salary. Pay me enough and I’ll buy my own. But there are several tax breaks made by paying part of my salary as benefits, so we play this game.

But bottom line, they are paying me for my labor. So why do they get to decide what I do or do not purchase with my money?

Because the boss owns you and your labor. Your wages are given to you out of the goodness of the job creator’s heart.

It is entirely right and proper for the job creator to control how his money is spent by his minions.
