Although I canât make a computer-technical article like this, that was the first thing I figured out about Mastadon: It simply isnât as useful as Twitter. You canât find anything on Mastadon unless you know both who and what to look for (and even then you might not find it).
The big argument in favour of Mastadon is itâs âdecentralised.â So what? âFunctionalâ is the most important feature of anything.
On a Linux rant, Linux users and promoters utter similar statements, such as âyou can control it more finelyâ or âyou can edit the codeâ or âit uses less memoryâ or âitâs not Windows.â So what? Those things donât mean anything to me, and Windows works just fine for what I need a computer to do. I donât have to become a software engineer to use Windows.
