Two restaurants sell beer and wine. There are also two liquor drive-thrus and three gas stations that sell beer.
Somebody got up a petition for a referendum to ban all alcohol sales in the county seat, but the county clerk rejected it because most of the people signing it were not residents of the city and/or not registered voters.
I live halfway between the county seat and the Kroger liquor store that is in the next county. Kroger’s prices are half of what the county seat businesses charge.
Moonshine is still a “thing” in my county, as well.

Moonshine and I have a love/hate relationship. My ex girlfriend from Boyd Co. introduced me to it. Love to drink it, hate it the next day.
