I don’t want to make any requests. Most Mastodon posts look fine. I’m on a Window 11 laptop that I recently acquired used from the local U. It welcomes Bobby when I turn it on. Let me know if I start (or have started) to sound like Bobby. I don’t know why tweets show less now. I was mostly blaming Twitter, but realizing it could be just me.

There is no remediation for twitter, unless eelon sold it to Charles for a nickel, and gave him a stipend to work on it a while. I don’t get images from tweets, nor users Icons, nor videos. Text alone shows up, so far as I can tell. Sometimes I see who the original tweeter is, and if I enjoyed their stuff before, I click to see it now.

No worry about requests.

You’re a member of the lgf tribe and one of the folks I post for. If you, and others, cannot read what I post, my posting becomes kind of pointless.

I also occasionally have cases where a post doesn’t fully resolve. In those cases I have found that clicking the post’s “reload button” (rightmost button) often helps display the contents of tweets.

You also might, if the University permits it, see if someone can help you tune the laptop. Which might include removing unwanted startup apps, freeing up ram, and cleaning up disks. And might include seeing if the motherboard might take more ram and whether a faster/larger hard drive might be put in. Etc…
