THIS. They’re going to have to figure out how to make freedom work in their society, which is radically different from ours in terms of culture, religion, history, etc. I think it’s important that we stay calm and not freak out every time there’s a bump in the road. As long as whatever they work out is compatible with modern representative democracy—even if it’s not a carbon copy of our own, which I think is impossible as the demographics & dynamics are so different—then I think it’ll be a vast improvement.
