Was just reading that. What they don’t add to the equation is that it costs more to buy and manufacture CF lighting. Money equals energy which remove the energy savings gained by the consumer. Additionally, these bulbs must be disposed of properly since it’s considered toxic waste. This also removes the energy savings. I would venture to guess that while those bulbs last longer the overall energy savings to society would be negligible.

I found a broken bulb in my sideyard next the garbage cans. I’m sure one of the kids did it. Maybe this will be the next major class action lawsuit for poisoning….win-win-win for the trial lawyers, liberals and manufacturers.
