Republicans love to talk about absolute numbers, not ratios. Absolutes are worthless.
Many Republicans actually don’t understand rates of occurrence. I wish I had a dollar for each time I’ve heard some ignoramus say that flying is safer than driving only because a lot more people drive. I explain passenger miles per fatality and they say something like, “Oh, kinda’ like per capital (sic) stuff.” Yes, you inbred moron, kind of like per capita stuff.
Another one that pisses me off is ignorance of compass directions. For some reason, this is especially common in Lubbock and west Texas. “Okay, the loading door is on the east side of the building.”
“Duh, which one is that?”
