One big difference. The Christians purged the Muslims and Jews out. When the Muslims controlled Iberia, this was not the case.

Spain and Portugal were flatly in the wrong.

There are situations where we should apologize (The assassinations and coups in the Cold War, supporting Pakistan during the genocide in Bangladesh, giving support to the Khmer Rouge).

This isn’t one of those situations. Pakistan is quite clearly in the wrong.
