Tomorrow evening I’m going with a group of friends to a place where we will be given painting supplies, and a “lesson” which is supposed to guide us through to a finished painting.

Given that most of us have absolutely no artistic talent whatsoever, AND given that the instructions are for each of us to bring a bottle of wine for refreshment during our session, I have a really odd feeling that the finished products may not be exactly professional.

My mom took up painting a few years ago when she retired. She’s now obsessed with watercolors. I still can’t believe how much she loves it. I was an artistic kid, always painting drawing and making music while she was always a hard ass workaholic. I’m glad she’s finally discovered her artistic side but it still strikes me as odd. She openly detested my artistic obsession and now she’s infected too.
