he showed on thursday that he can learn to stand up to a bully. but what happens when he faces an utterly different opponent?

fighting back directly isn’t the only way to defend yourself. some debaters are good at “fuzzing” the opponent’s debating points, or “going soft” so that the opponents blows don’t have any impact

so, my point is that mitt is being forced to waste his time learning lessons that won’t do him any good with obama

Mittens is getting used to standing up to a bully and lobbing Newt’s shit back at him. But he still comes off as rather wooden and smug, which is going to be a sharp contrast to Obama being seen as a friendly and likable guy. It’s a bit like the difference between Bush and Kerry: Obama’s the guy you could see having a beer with you, Romney’s the guy who would insult you for drinking something meant for “poor folks.”
