The Obama campaign’s new ad is almost unbelievably brutal because it plays Mitt Romney’s own secretly recorded words, juxtaposed with images of the people he was casually dismissing.

It’s also unbelievably stupid. Among that 47% are people who would have been receptive to voting for Romney.

At this time Romney is on course to displace Tom Dewey from the history books.

Not quite. Dewey was up on Truman in the Gallup polls by 17% or so in late September. Romney has never achieved any sort of meaningful lead on Obama. (Also, the Democratic Party is also not currently in a three-way split with far left and far right candidates running independent campaigns as well.)

That Romney is running a cold, distant, and based on platitudes campaign is dead-on though.
