I’ve already seen comments defending him and asserting that he was defending himself against a mob of protesters.

It’s possible that his family had advanced knowledge of his plans — but it’s equally possible that they were blindsided by his actions. He wouldn’t be the first teenager to lie to his parents about where he was going or to sneak out of the house. Haven’t as yet heard any personal details about the suspect’s family.

This kid is 17 years old. Last I checked, you have to be 18 to own a long rifle (granted, it might vary by state).

Oh and he fled across state lines. That’s a paddlin’ few years in the slammer.
