No, pastors and such pay taxes. I had a conversation with the secretary of the Presbyterian church that we* rent about how the pastors stopped living at the pastorages or whatever they are called and asked for a living allowance instead because they wanted the tax benefits of the mortgage.

Of course, Mormon bishops don’t pay taxes on what they get paid, because they don’t get paid. They pay taxes on whatever they earn in their jobs. My current bishop works for Intel. One before that was a lawyer.
