It’s not about loose cannons. Republicans are no longer in control of their message. Their political positions are set by the prevailing memes of the media cult their base now follows. Opposition to the Democrats does not stem from the opposition party; rather, the opposition party is nothing more than the political proxies for these memes.

The Republican party has leaders too. But they’re not elected, or politically appointed.
