I think that’s a big part of it though not the full story. The moneybags teabagging the tea party don’t care one whit about the color of the D standing in the way of their looting the government.

They’ll let the anxiety brew and stew, sure. Doesn’t take a lot of effort on their part, that’s for sure.

While I’m sure severe ODS is playing a role in the GOP stonewalling of raising the debt ceiling, I smells a lot like the “Fuck everyone else, I got mine!” mentality to me…and the GOP rank-and-file who aren’t racist or xenophobic and continue to support this lunacy (directly or indirectly) are being used like a rubber on Saturday night.
