Wouldn’t that just be a conservative justice being replaced by a conservative justice? Wouldn’t change the current balance of SCOTUS.

A conservative justice who could be around for another 40 years. Thanks to McConnell, we have a conservative court. The election of Biden is now the only hope of getting a Court that will support progressive values, and that can happen only if one of the conservative justices is replaced. The 2 oldest justices by far are RBG and Breyer. Biden’s election will prevent any further deterioration in judicial decisions but won’t provide any improvement either.
