If anyone thinks Obama was going to be anything more than milquetoast in his address on this, they haven’t been paying attention to whatever happens when he opens his mouth.

Even the most tepid of rebukes to McCulloch or the Grand Jury would result in a nigh instant revolt of shit and assuredly would only make things explode even further, and he realizes this, I’m sure.

It’s like speaking up for the Iranian Greens — any public support from our president will only make things worse for the people he’s supporting.
