Disclaimer: I’ve been involved with an AI startup for about a year.
IMHO she’s mostly off base on AI. It is already incredibly useful in some domains, and will only become more so as time goes on. The comparison to block chain is off base. Block chain is an interesting idea looking for legit use cases. AI can help accelerate many things that are already being done. It’ll increase productivity by more than office PCs did.

AI is just dumb as fuck. I’m sure it will likely get better, but it doesn’t seem to be “learning” anything that I can see. Essentially what I’m doing is helping a LLM sound like it knows what it’s talking about so that it can answer questions from people without hallucinating about stuff. That’s not intelligent. That’s just something that’s proficient at running a con.
