There’s plenty of criticizing of those who want to purge the party of RINOs, but no explanation of how purging the party of social conservatives would help win elections.

That’s because I have never advocated “purging the party of social conservatives.” Why should I explain it when I’ve never said it?

I do think the party needs to eliminate the social conservative agenda from its platform — or at least tone it down to a very large extent. Unfortunately, the kind of people who want to meddle in other people’s lives and teach everyone’s children creationism are not going to be happy about a reduced role, are they? The whole point for them is to have dominion over others. And there we have the GOP’s big problem.
