This reminds me of the debate about whether Germany would have gone as batshit crazy if it weren’t for Hitler. The more I watch Trump, and the unique hold he has on his base, how he pushes every single one of their buttons, over and over and over, the more I think that Germany without Hitler maybe remilitarizes, but probably doesn’t go down the same path as they did in reality.

The thing we have going for us is that uneducated white people are a minority in America, whereas they were a majority in Germany.

Goebbels had a PhD. Lots of early Nazis were highly educated. So were the corporate leaders, the military leaders, and political leaders who flocked to him.

I would say that this country is far less educated than Germany in the 1930s was.
