Now he proves he wants to be the 2024 version of Eugene McCarthy.

Dean Phillips Says It’s ‘Delusional’ to Expect Biden to Beat Trump in 2024

thedailybeast.com

In a series of early morning tweets, retiring congressman and long-shot presidential candidate, Dean Phillips, articulated his thoughts on the 2024 election.

He said while he was a staunch supporter of the Biden agenda and respects the president, he thinks the level of government missteps is “staggering” and that its “delusional” to believe that Joe Biden could beat Donald Trump again.

“He’s going to lose to Trump,” Phillips wrote to X, citing a recent Politico analysis of Biden’s worrisome poll numbers.

Once a fervent Biden fanboy, Phillips has become the only elected Democrat to mount a primary challenge against him.

“As a member of House Democratic Leadership, I supported and promoted the Biden agenda,” Phillips wrote on Saturday, before adding in a subsequent tweet that “the mismanagement of our government is a staggering failure of every administration since Clinton.”

Still, Phillips said, if polling turns around in the president’s favor by summer “I’ll drop out and get behind him.”

So Dean thinks the right course of action to wound Joe Biden as much as possible before he is inevitably the Democratic candidate? What is wrong with these idiots?

Is he going to use “Clean for Dean” as a slogan….???

“As a member of House Democratic Leadership, I supported and promoted the Biden agenda,” Phillips wrote on Saturday, before adding in a subsequent tweet that “the mismanagement of our government is a staggering failure of every administration since Clinton.”

Does he have any particular examples of any of those “staggering failure[s]” in mind?? And exactly how President Biden is responsible for them?

Still, Phillips said, if polling turns around in the president’s favor by summer “I’ll drop out and get behind him.”

Stunning exhibition of bold political bravery there, Dean: maybe it isn’t really Joe’s polling you ought to be worried about….???

I call foul. The public is very much aware of the risks of government abuse and open threats of violence of another Trump occupation of the White House and they are all for it.

This is what Liberals fail to realize and it is their fault.

Many if not most Liberals fail to process that many of their associates and even family members weigh the pluses and minuses of American fascism and end up shrugging their shoulders or agreeing with overt intimidation, prison or death of Liberals.

The idea that American public is than much different from the German public in the 30’s after these decades of Murdoch and right wing propaganda is ludicrous. The current level of populist anger is explosive and Democrats do nothing to address it directly. Trump will, at least rhetorically. Many of these corporations that have supported Republicans and Conservatives for years will soon regret it as implications of price controls and other direct top-down government relief start coming from Trump’s campaign trail.

Sadly, “Liberals” is not “the public” Margaret Sullivan is talking about.
As such, she is very spot on in her observation.

Gonna have to disagree with you. The liberals I know are very much aware of what Trump will do, and they are very aware of what Republicans around here in Red Texas believe. And, around here, Republicans believe that Biden is a fascist and Trump isn’t, that abortion is the most important issue to be tackled, and that minorities are out to get them. Trump is an instrument of God’s will. Biden isn’t a Christian, he’s just lying.

But never when a car drives through a bike lane or a delivery truck blocks the cyclists and forces us into traffic.

Yesterday I went on a long ride on the Springwater trail. At the start of the ride, I saw cops walking the trail from two opposite ends, apparently trying to find a houseless camper. Further up the trail, I saw some guy in a giant truck who had somehow gotten his truck onto the trail and was driving head-on into bike traffic and I had to hop off the bike. No cops there.

12 miles SW from Nashville on Highway 100 which runs thru a 5,000 acre municipal park with miles of hiking trails. This memorial has been maintained for several months.

The highway has a speed limit of 40 MPH, and a “bike lane”.

So he’s gonna do the Madison Cawthorn thing.

And he’s forgetting what Republicans did to that little ignorant twerp!

George Santos calls out ‘felons galore’ in House who get ‘drunk’ with lobbyists

Just days before his potential expulsion from the House of Representatives, Rep. George Santos (R-New York) unleashed on his colleagues late Friday night for several hours in his first public response to the damning report published by the House Committee on Ethics.

“[The report] was designed to smear me, it designed to force me out of my seat,” an irate Santos said in the audio recording posted to X (formerly Twitter). He made it clear his anger was at members “on both sides of the aisle.”

“They all act like they are on ivory towers with white pointy hats and they’re untouchable,” he added. “Within the ranks of the United States Congress there’s felons galore, there’s people with all sorts of sheisty backgrounds.”

“I’m not running for reelection because I don’t want to work with a bunch of hypocrites. It’s gross,” he continued. “I have colleagues who are more worried about getting drunk every night with the next lobbyists they’re going to screw and pretend like none of us know what’s going on and sell off the American people. Not show up to vote because they’re too hung over or whatever the reason is, or not show up to vote at all and just give their card out like f—-ing candy for someone else to vote for them. This s—- happens every single week… These members behave abominably.”

Santos had particular disdain for Rep. Michael Guest (R-Mississippi), who chairs the ethics committee, challenging him to make the expulsion a “privileged” motion — meaning it would take precedence over all pending matters. The embattled Congressman said Guest “should be a man and stop being a p—-y and call the damn motion.”

“It ain’t gonna be the dude from Mississippi that’s gonna kick me, a New Yorker, out of Congress,” Santos said roughly 40 minutes into the recording.

While Santos didn’t name names, he suggested that other members routinely cheat on their spouses and violate House rules, while lamenting that there were no ethics committee investigations into their behavior.

Santos’ hints at illicit behavior from his colleagues harkens back to when former Rep. Madison Cawthorn (R-North Carolina) was abandoned by his caucus after speaking on a podcast about supposedly being invited to a drug-fueled orgy by his fellow members of Congress. Cawthorn was defeated in a Republican primary in 2022.

So Alabama got a last gasp TD to beat Auburn, 27-24 in the Iron Bowl.

And BYU got a last second FG to knot it up with Okie State. They go to OT. It’s on ABC.

If Okie State wins, they play Texas in the Big 12 Championship game next week. If they lose, the Horns have to play the Hated Oklahoma Sooners.

Go Okie State!

For people outside the UK, it’s a Disney+ exclusive.
I broke down a couple of weeks ago and did the $3-4 ad-supported Disney+ add-on to my already existing Hulu subscription in preparation for today.

In South Carolina?

I’m shocked, I tell you!

Watch: Trump met with loud boos as he pulls up to South Carolina football game

Donald Trump made a big deal of attending the South Carolina “Palmetto Bowl,” where he hoped to show up his GOP rival Nikki Haley at her alma mater, but a video shows the crowd wasn’t quite as excited.

Trump teased the appearance on Truth Social, saying hours earlier that he was “getting ready to leave for the Great State of South Carolina, to attend the Palmetto Bowl.”

But his appearance itself was a bit of a mixed bag, according to video provided by Fox Carolina Sports Director Beth Hoole.

“Former President Donald Trump has arrived ahead of kickoff at Williams-Brice Stadium,” she wrote in posting the video.

But social media users including popular conservatives were quick to point out the boos.

“Trump was met with a massive amount of boos as his SUV arrived at the Palmetto Bowl in Columbia South Carolina,” according to Republicans against Trump.

A reporter posted, “You can hear the boo’s and explicit welcome Trump received as his SUV arrived at Williams-Brice for the Palmetto Bowl.”

FWIW

Tech billionaire Elon Musk says that Ireland’s Taoiseach Leo Varadkar “hates the Irish people.”

Ah! That’s why he was elected Taoiseach (pronounced Tay-shock), or Prime Minister of the Irish Free State.

When he posted his comment about the Irish hostage child, he was posting to the Irish people about an Irish child who was, indeed, lost, and was not known to be dead or living.

This was after a group of uniformed Gazan soldiers, living in an independent territory adjacent to Israel attacked Israeli citizens and Security Forces that they considered enemies of the Gazan Government, which Bibi’s government has traditionally supported (when it was convenient politically), and who moved critical members of the IDF to protect illegal kibbutzim in the West Bank, leaving settlements around Gaza at risk.

Elon could not be elected Dog Catcher in most of the US because he is an immoral, grasping asshole.

Those attacking the Taoiseach of the Irish Free State should understand who he was addressing and not refer to him as a “piece of shit” when the real progenitor of this disaster is the head of the Israeli, not Irish government.
