Live Video: GOHMERT! At the Values Voter Summit

It’s LOUIE time!
Humor • Views: 49,379

YouTube

Just in time for the Dumbest Man in Congress, Louie “The Dome” Gohmert, here’s the live feed from the religious right wing hate-fest known as the Values Voter Summit. Louie will be followed by — believe it or not — Oliver North, who never goes out of style on the right.

And then, the main event: anti-gay Kentucky clerk Kim Davis will receive the “Cost of Discipleship Award,” because she’s suffered so much for her bigotry. Man, these people are nuts.

UPDATE at 9/25/15 4:45:46 pm by Charles Johnson

Uh oh, the schedule says Louie is supposed to speak before the scintillating Oliver North, but North is talking now. I hope Louie hasn’t been canceled. That would be a real tragedy, from an inadvertent comedy standpoint.

I caught a glimpse of North in the background of something the other day and his years are showing.

What felony values are Ollie promoting?

IMHO the only potential next 1st family that can even hold a candle to the Obamas is the Bidens. I, and it is my own fault, know nothing of Mrs. Sanders.

Michelle Obama is a class act, bare arms and all.

The Major from Hellsing might become a GOP war-hawk role model in time, if the GOP’s war mania continues to increase steadily.

Not much action on the Red Pill MRA Gamergate flying monkey watch. I decided discretion is the better part of valor and disengaged from any more contact.

I had Ben Shapiro and Dana Loesch minions after me for up to a week after they posted tweets from me…which was amusing to a degree (I kept getting alerts that my posted academic papers online at researchgate were being looked at)

The gamergate ppl are frakking nuts, though. I don’t need physical threats.

Tonight’s test—to see if I can tolerate SE Cupp in order to see John Cleese and Ron Reagan on Maher’s show.

I’m so sad I’ve missed most of the Pope coverage—got back from 12 days of work in Cincinnati, and trying to get ready for a 17-day west coast jaunt that starts next week, followed by 5 days at home, then 10 days in Michigan.

LOOOONNNNG hours; annoying workers and no sleep. The money’s good if I live through the next month in order to enjoy it!

I was very disappointed that the pope was in my neighborhood today and didn’t stop by for a beer.

Actually, I didn’t have any beer in my place this morning and was hoping he’d bring some (there has to be room for at least one case of Peroni in that golf cart), which makes me doubly disappointed.

End of rant.

Not this? Trump tells ‘60 Minutes’: End NAFTA to keep jobs in U.S. (VIDEO)

Once again, anyone who knows anything about Trump would know that he refused to consider manufacturing his clothing line here in the US. Rather, he sought to maximize his profits by offshoring - in Mexico and China.

Trump is part of the very problem that he’s claiming would be solved by killing NAFTA.

NAFTA isn’t the problem, not by a long shot. Nativists like Trump, however… are a big problem.

Looks like yet another attempt to do anything in Syria has failed.

On the night of September 18 and to the next morning, seventy-five new fighters trained in a camp near the Turkish capital crossed through the Bab al-Salama border point and entered Aleppo Governorate, heading to the town of Tal Rifaat. Most of the newly-trained fighters deployed to Division 30, while others went to support the Falcons of Mount Zawiya Brigade. The group entered in a convoy of a dozen cars with light weapons and ammunition, under air cover from the US-led coalition.[9][10] By September 23, 2015 the New Syrian Forces had defected to the al-Nusra Front, according to al-Nusra sources.[11] The US Department of Defense denied this claim[12], while U.S. military confirmed.

Perfect for those long ocean voyages, underwater. I’ve always liked the way it looks. If Howard Hughes and Charles Bukowski had a love child, that is it.

You know why I despise Kim Davis? I despise Kim Davis because she’s one of those people who raised hell for as long as she could then, when she couldn’t raise hell anymore and everyone was tired of her act, she walked into a church and had herself sprayed with forgiveness. That left her feeling qualified to judge the morals and worthiness of people who’ve led far more admirable lives than she has and to inflict her new-found sanctity on them because now she’d never done anything wrong, ever.

That’s why I despise Kim Davis.

Jim Wright on John Boehner (via Facebook):

Here’s another goddamned mess, another pile of turds John Boehner crapped out on America. This is just so typical of his ilk, pull a Palin instead of wiping the snot off his face and getting ahold of the maniacs in his own party. He’s bailing out, quitting, and leaving the asylum in the hands of the lunatics. As lousy as John Boehner is, we are very, very likely to get something worse in his stead.

At this point, the best thing John Boehner can do for history is go home to Ohio and die a coward’s death.

Pardon my French, but bullshit.

Goldwater’s “libertarianism” was a fig leaf for just plain old-fashioned racism, and his desperation to win the 1964 Republican nomination- which he knew to be utterly worthless against a President racking up 80+ percent approval ratings- drove him to force black delegates out of the GOP delegations from most of the southern states, where they had been nearly the only people to support the party for over eighty years. Goldwater was the start of the Republican Party’s moral decay, and should have been expelled from the Senate caucus on the grounds that the supposed intellectual heirs of Abraham Lincoln DO NOT ACT THIS WAY.

Certainly blacks have never been fooled; this is why the GOP, which had been winning 30-40 percent of the black vote previously, has never won more than 1/6 of the black vote in any national election since 1964. We white people shouldn’t be fooled either.

You’ll get no argument from me but it is well documented that Goldwater detested the religious right. That said, he deserves as you said the criticism for the party the GOP eventually became. The honest to God last Republican I could see myself voting for is Ike and that would be difficult since he had Nixon. So probably Dewey in 48 and that would be tough since I am a huge Truman fan. I know, but I really don’t think we should be valorizing Goldwater for avoiding one specific kind of hatred while he did everything within his power to gin up others. AuH2O failed his test of character, and was just another backbench Senator by the time the Christian Right got going (and he didn’t do much of substance to oppose them then). I apologize to those whom I have offended.

A family trait, I guess. My father despises Eisenhower for similar reasons, because Ike was willing to ride Joe McCarthy’s coattails to the Oval Office rather than stand up to him, until the Army itself was under attack.

See if it’s cheaper to fly up here from FL—I’ll pick you up and drive you around (you’ll just have to keep your father and me miles apart!)

LOL, thanks. We are definitely hooking up. Looking like the week before Christmas in the Beach area.

re: #190 Brian J.

Don’t worry about it. Your points are sound. No need to apologize at all. I admire LBJ I assure much more than I do Goldwater and Stevenson politically much more than I do Ike for that matter too.

He birthed Kim Davis to send her to jail in a pointless protest that (at most) delayed a handful of weddings. God has a very offbeat and slow-developing sense of humor, to put it mildly.

He’s got an almost evil sense of humor. “Hey, Perry, run for Pres!” chuckle “Hey Huckabee, run for Pres!” giggle “Hey Santorum, run for Pres!”. snicker “Hey Jindal, run for Pres!” guffaw

But hey, if you’re all knowing and unending, gotta do something to alleviate the boredom.

The Rage Furby has awoken from his drunken stupor (?) and posted this little paragraph on his Bob Menendez ‘research’:

The Menendez story masked a large corruption within American journalism. Every single major publication in the country condemned and mocked us relentlessly—and took an accused child rapist’s word over our mounting evidence. As my colleagues moved on to other publications and were sometimes barred from even discussing the Menendez story responding to these lies largely fell to me. My colleagues went on to other jobs—Matthew Boyle writes for Breitbart, David Martosko is the U.S. political editor for the Daily Mail—but I founded my own website, gotnews.com, where I quickly became famous reporting the sorts of stories that the media routinely suppresses, like the Black Lives Matter lies and the fake campus rapes.

I wouldn’t go that far. There are enought differences that the Arab World can be classified as 4 Separate Subgroups (Maybe 5, depending on how one thinks of Morocco.

You have the Mashriq/Levent region, which goes from the fertile Crescent to the Mediterranean Coast, Egypt, The Maghreb, and the Peninsular Arabs.

However Saudi was created on the backs of other nations. Hijaz was under Hashemite Control, but a number of provinces just to the south of Mecca used to be part of Yemen. That’s not counting the seizure of the Qatif Region, which was and still is Shi’ite in character.

It should be noted that for the last 100 years of its history, the Ottomans were the ones keeping a lid on the Saudis/Wahhabis, pressuring them, and pushing them down till they were forced to leave the region by the Crisis in the Balkans, then World War I.

Apparently, Capaldi and Moffat ambushed Coleman and convinced her to stay for Series 9.

I am going to make a prediction. Right now for Doctor Who. Moffat and Capaldi will both leave at the end of Series 10. Moffat has turned the show, behind the scenes, into a bit of a hugbox.

Matt Smith, Karen Gillan, and Arthur Darvill kinda formed a little pack, and once the latter 2 left, Matt Smith was gone half a season later.

Apparently Jenna and Peter are close friends now. I think history will repeat. Moreover, Moffat is opening talking about finding his successor now.

Series 11 will be a massive reset for Doctor Who.
