Written and recorded in just a week under a strike of inspiration, Ain’t No Sunshine is Marcin’s most spontaneous work in a long time. Based on Bill Withers’ iconic song, as usual he reimagines portions of the piece completely while retaining the laid back atmosphere of the original. For the video Marcin featured 8 kittens, who progressively fell asleep calmly at his feet, listening to his guitar over the course of the day.

That’s the one. I’m looking for a way to get a few DB yard signs, but they’re only available right now in onesies, shipped individually. (A battery LED rig could make them glow at night.)

And the more we do this, the more we split off the sane Republicans from the MAGAs, the Wall Street/CHamber of Commerce ones who realize that none of the stuff Trump can do makes up for the huge stock market gains under Biden. Stability is the most important for them.

So, they begin working with moderate Dems and realize that they have a lot in common and start working even more with each other. (I do not think it will happen but if they actually agreed to some sort of power-sharing with the Dems, we would have the bipartisanship Biden has been mocked for talking about the last few years. Dark Branden once again.)

People underestimate just how important this sort of battle is for informing our own military capability. A single troop of 6-10 men can now carry enough ordinance (ie anti-tank weapons, drones, etc.) to take out a heck-a-lot of the enemy. THat is why we have observers there. And Ukraine is a tremendous respurce because it has the talent able to run a high tech, dispersed campaign.

Plus, what does Ukraine do with the money we send them? The GOP acts like they just bury it or put in into Zelensky’s bank account. No, they send the money back to us by buying military equipment from us. This aide is like a stimulas program.

Worked that way with Israel.
LGF, 2010:
The Truth about Area 51: Project Have Doughnut and the Israeli connection.

The enormous haul of [captured] Soviet bloc equipment from the 6 Day War was probably the greatest technical intelligence coup since World War 2. Much of the gear, tanks for instance, was familiar in the west, but there were some real bonanzas as well. A complete SA2 surface-to-air missile battery was captured intact, for example. This was at a time when the SA2 was in heavy use against American aircraft in Vietnam. Another surprise was the Soviets’ best field artillery piece, the S-23. This had been seen in Red Square parades, but western analysts did not know even its true caliber (180 mm) until the Israelis came up with captured specimens and a large stock of ammunition. Russian anti-tank missiles and surveillance radar were also part of the loot.
Israel’s willingness to share this with the US was one reason for the lifting of the embargo and the eventual decision to provide outright military aid.

As pointed out elsewhere in the article, much of the captured equipment conveniently came with English language operation and maintenance manuals. This was because Soviet technical writers had not yet mastered Arabic but many Egyptians (and all Egyptian officers) could understand English. When MiG-21s arrived at Groom Lake (Area 51) some of the test personnel were astounded to learn that the English language pilot and maintenance manuals were official Soviet productions rather than CIA translations or something.

DAMN!

Oregon Man Narrowly Escapes Runaway Industrial Saw Blade

An Oregon man barely escaped with his life after a mishap at a nearby construction site sent a giant industrial saw blade hurtling toward him in a Eugene parking lot on Thursday. Shane Reimche arrived at Quicktrips Neighborhood Market on the sedate Monday morning and can be seen calmly entering the store on surveillance footage. Moments after the door swings shut behind him, a four-foot construction saw with razor-sharp edges rips across the parking lot at terrifying speed and lodges itself in the store wall — just a few inches from where Reimche had been standing. The impact was so powerful it shook the whole store, causing a loud bang and a cloud of smoke to go up, Reimche told local station KEZI. He jumped to safety behind a counter at the last minute. “Oh my god, I had tears all night. It was petrifying. I was shaking in the store,” he said. “I don’t think I would’ve survived being touched by that thing.”

The Video clip really scared the crap out of me!

I’m Jewish but I have never been in favor of a Jewish state. I grew up in America, where we believe that a pluralistic melting pot makes us stronger. That said, I cannot imagine a worse approach to finding help for the plight of the Palestinians than chanting “Genocide Joe” and disrupting every single thing like this. Fer godsakes, Israel is stepping on their own dicks in spectacular fashion on this. A similar thing happened to me once.

I had just left work, headed for bus stop. There was a horrendous noise in front of me and I looked up to see that a homemade trailer had thrown a wheel. The noise was the axle grinding on the road and shedding sparks.

The thrown tire was headed straight for me. I set myself to dodge but it veered into a nearby field.

As you note, it is easy to phrase things less than optimally. It is easy to misread and make assumptions. There is a lot of ground to cover. Plus there is a lot happening. And a lot of emotions associated with the topic. And sometimes we don’t have to agree with everybody about everything.

It’s a slow boat.

The USNS Harvey Milk arrived Thursday in San Francisco, where it was docked at piers 30 and 32 for one day before departing on its maiden voyage. CBS News reported that the ship was “said to be headed then to a mission in Gaza.”

However, according to Navy spokesperson Brian O’Rourke, the ship is bound for Norfolk, Virginia, where it will be stationed for a year.

“It’s not transporting anything; it’s reporting to its first home,” O’Rourke told SFGATE when asked whether the ship would be delivering supplies on its first journey. He added that rumors of the vessel being bound for Gaza are “absolutely not true.”
