My husband and I have always had a thing for yellow roses. They’re our favorite flower to represent our marriage, as he convinced me to keep dating him by giving me yellow roses when he drove six hours to visit me when i was thinking of dumping him.

I have a picture of my mother on her HS graduation day holding a bouquet of yellow roses (that my father had sent her). On the day of my HS graduation, my mother’s identical twin sister sent me a bouquet of…. yellow roses. It’s become a very meaningful flower for my family. When my Grand Dad passed away- a family friend of my aunts’ and mother sent a bouquet of them- it meant so much to all of us.

(Incidentally- this same family friend saved me from drowning as a toddler.)
