I’m not exactly hip to it myself, but I think it amounts to a bait-and-switch, where you think you’re following an account with cute cat pictures, but then end up following a crypobro hawking their favorite NFTs.

And once an image has enough followers, making it an NFT gives it value? Seems like the targets are going to be other wannabe crypto bros.
