My dad is one of the smartest people I know, and he didnāt finish high school. But my dad would never try to think heās capable of going up against a recent college physics graduate on the subject of quantum mechanics just because he knows how to fix a car.
I was a professional software developer while I was getting my degree in computer science. And there were a number of people with degrees who didnāt know as much as I did. But I also worked with people, and the books I read were by people, who I couldnāt come close to until I had put in the hard work of getting my bachelorās and masterās (? apostrophes).
So yes, when certain people, like Congresspeople, decided to throw their intellectual prowess around, their education level is fair game. Because if it isnāt, thereās no reason to favor a climate scientist over Ted Cruz.
