I remain opposed to open carry, but I do think its worth noting that Texas pushed it through even after black groups made it clear they would be open-carrying. The paranoia that drives open carry is about government and its failings (real and perceived) and not about race.

White people afraid of black people are no longer satisfied with the kind of guns they can carry concealed. That’s why the Open Carry assholes like carrying black rifles - because they think they’ll scare away the black people who came to robe them and rape their women.
