Klondike bars only made it down to Texas when I was off to college in CA - mid 70s. What I loved were the original Eskimo Pies. Same no stick Ice Cream bar. Could only get them from the Ice Cream Truck as those in the store had sticks. They are now called Edy’s Pies.

But Klondike bars were made in Youngstown OH and Philadelphia PA, starting on 1922. So you can bet that a boy growing up in Scranton got Klondike bars long before they were distributed nationwide. I imagine that young boy did some amazing things for a Klondike bar, things I never got the chance to do because they were not in Texas.

Memories of when Isaly’s in Western PA sold the REAL Klondike bars and they were so good. Then Michael Milken had one of his pals do a hostile takeover of the company and overload it with debt. Isaly’s assets were scooped up by other companies.

Just another victim of that fucking parasite Millken.

They made wonderful ice cream with flavors nobody else had such as chocolate marshmallow ice cream. Damn I loved that when I was a kid!

Memories of actor Anthony Eisley doing commercials for them, “Hey! Me, Anthony Eisley LOVES Isaly’s!”
