All important, yes. But to me the single most important thing happened on the first day when Buford fought his delaying action. That classic example of Dragoon tactics bought Meade time to get the high ground. The rest of the battle fell into place from there.

Almost as important was on the last day when the Union cavalry actually, finally, stopped Stuart on the battlefield. Preventing him from turning the northern flank probably didn’t save the battle but it prevented needless casualties and gave the ANV an additional black eye.
