Our chow hall food (including barbecued water buffalo) was generally pretty good and I didn’t have a lot of exposure to C-rats. I would tend to agree that the spaghetti dinner was the best of the lot though. The lima beans with ham was universally reviled but I sort of liked it. Could not stand the beef stew, which I called “turds in wax.” The accessory pack, which included cigarettes, toilet paper, and the all important tabasco sauce, was worthwhile.
Best of the bad: What was the best C-ration during the Vietnam War?
