Heh! My sister and brother in law live in Lexington, Ma. And she has remarked on occasion about the popularity of Dunkin Donuts. Generally, when I am visiting, I’ll make a pilgrimage to get an authentic Dunkin Donuts.

Dunkin Donuts has made inroads even here in the heathen South. There is one a couple of miles from my house.

The phenomenon of Krispy Kreme seems to have come and gone. Duck Donuts is still around. There are also a few outliers like Texas Donuts as well.

Krispy Kreme was briefly in Boston, at the Prudential Center (a mall surrounding the skyscraper).
Their donuts were superior to Dunks. Their coffee… wasn’t. Not even close.
I would buy donuts from Krispy Kreme, and walk a short distance to the Dunks for coffee.
