I have to say I don’t think race is a major factor here. Rather, the difference between the two is that the former actually had his department recommend to McCulloch that charges be filed. So it would seem that, in this case, this poor fucker happened to fall on the wrong side of the thin blue line.

If not race then why is it you think the black cop fell on the wrong side of that line? I’m willing to concede that part of the reason the department rallied behind Wilson was because the stakes were so high, and cops in general have a perpetual hard on about “officer safety.” But I’m also not credulous enough to believe Wilson’s treatment would have been the same if he’d been Black and/or Brown had been White.
