Effectively dividing us into two countries, since there would be those states that would follow federal law, and those who would tell the federal government to go fuck itself and would just do whatever they damn well please (which you know would just be the whim of whatever de facto authority found itself in charge of the Republican Party).

Except it won’t stop with dividing into 2 countries. The Red States will break into further pieces as religious conflicts bubble to the top. Example—Utah & Idaho may break away from a red state bloc as fundy Xtians go after heretic Mormons. Louisiana may go its own way over its legal system. More cracks will develop.
