Well, they’re going to send us to bed without soda pop or candy… at least they’re going to tax the hell out of it, since we can’t be trusted to nourish ourselves properly.
FWIW, I thoroughly agree that the nutritional IQ of most Americans is appalling, but it is not the government’s business to remove choices, even bad ones, from adults.

The government’s role in such cases ought to be to make the best possible information easily available for everyone, so people can judge for themselves based on objective facts. I have no problem with the government being a clearinghouse for nutritional information.

I don’t need them to spoon-feed me, though.
