Not at all. The Nazi’s “hijacked” the swastika. I’ve seen it numerous times during my visit in India, where it is still widespread in use (although most of the time a mirror image.) It’s been in use since 3000 BC. It’s a sacret symbol in Hinduism, equal to the cross and the star of David. (Which is in a way a bit ironic if you ask me.)

Right! As a sanskrit symbol, it symbolizes the continued cycle of life. What I’m guessing albusteve was seeing was a backwards swastika. Actually since the sanskrit symbol came first, the swastika is the backward one.
