If the Russians can’t take Kyiv, Putin’s gonna be in big trouble. Such failures can prove deadly to dictators, as it starts making some mid-level military brass types think that leadership is either incompetent or has royally fucked up the situation.

I think it’s more likely that they’ll take it, mostly, but not be able to hold it. A little village on the Volga river comes to mind… ;)
