There is a YOOGE industry in antiquities forgery in Israel. You have to wonder why they find so many “Jesus souvenirs” compared to random shit from other centuries.

Yeah, my question would have been where (and why) did a dealer in Israel get a hoard of tablets like that - even assuming they are real, and not baked up by Cousin Shmuli in his backyard kiln last year - the whole think stinks of “war loot” (or “scam”) even at a remove.
But then, wealthy fundamentalists have been a shady dealer’s dream-client for centuries, probably: I wouldn’t be surprised if the “Museum of the Bible” hasn’t been offered enough “fragments of the True Cross” to make a telephone pole. And signed pieces, too…
