I saw our very own @jaunte retweet this, and just had to post it here. A big legal victory here in Minnesota, as the George Floyd protesters prevail in their civil suit against the Minneapolis Police Department for their heavy-handed tactics in the summer of 2020. Part of their punishment:

I guess the catch here is defining lawful protestors. How many people in a group of protestors have to cross the line into unlawful behavior before the police can use those things to disperse the whole group? And while the city settled, I am willing to bet most of the cops who were there still think they were breaking up unlawful protests.
