Somewhat. I have been a bit more sanguine about the story last week that the Brits and the French are sending military advisers to help the rebels. That ended being pretty effective in helping the Bosnians in their fight to drive out the Serbs 15 years ago or so. (We sent private contrators to train the Bosnian Army.)

They do need the aircover, although I would rather that NATO not try to do the assassination type thing they seem intent on. Let the Rebels deal with him after they have been shown how to actually use their weapons. (Maybe we ought to be sending them those out of date M-60A3 tanks we still have around. We don’t even need to show how the turret stabilization works…just how to load, drive, basic field maintenance and how use the main gun and the machine guns.)

the rebels don’t need tanks, they need information…tanks in an urban scene are highly vulnerable
