The Fed kept wires open until 19:30* today, apparently in an attempt to stave off the collapse of First Republic Bank, but apparently that’s not going to work and the FDIC is preparing to take the bank over. First Republic’s stock dropped 43 percent today (lost $2.68, closing at $3.51) and is apparently still dropping in after market trading.
