having just completed the long transition to linux, i now have a laptop that hasnt been powered up in 6 weeks.
1TB, enough ram but it’s a bit slow.
i cant figure out how to repurpose it.
a lot of ideas but what’s the point? what to ‘do’ with it?

i could make it linux, and it would be faster, but then what?
i dont need a third monitor, and there’s that keyboard in the way..
stream movies? we have a tv
our data is well protected with multi backups and offsite syncing.
photoframe? again that keyboard…

the desktop is way faster (and linux, not windows)
i have more disk space than i can ever fill.
and i also have a tablet (first world problems)

Put FreeBSD on it and learn what a real UNIX is like? < whistles innocently >

Somewhat more seriously, duplicate your Linux setup making sure full dev tools are installed and give it to a promising but poor kid at your nearest middle/high school?
