They had to win in 2000, then McConnell had to play games in the hopes that Trump would win in 2016. And finally, they have to win in 2024. Because if they don’t, it all comes apart around them.

I get it, we could do this all day. But they have reached a point where the only way they have a shot at maintaining their Christian Nationalist ideals for running the government is to win and destroy it all. Because they don’t have the numbers.

The plan going around right now in some quarters is that the Speaker refuses to seat Dems after the next election and then votes to not confirm the election if Biden wins, thereby throwing the election to the House and Trump is confirmed. All of this is entirely legal, but not likely the Senate would join in. It still sets stage for both candidates claiming victory next January 6.

Note this is very close to what Trump et al tried to do last time. This time they will be better prepared at the state level to overturn unwanted results and have governors install alternative EC slates. This is part of why I said we may not be able to just vote our way out of this. They are prepared to simply ignore our votes. We need to be ready for mass strikes and to stand by blue state governors who refuse to bend the knee in this. I think there is a very high possibility that organized armed violence is on the table and we have to be prepared for that. The Speaker is an apocalyptic dispensationalist nut who claims he is on a mission from God. Don’t believe for moment he isn’t capable of setting off the next civil war.
