The plan going around right now in some quarters is that the Speaker refuses to seat Dems

People seem to want to get this wrong. At the beginning of every session, there is no House. There is no one in charge. Every two years it starts over. Mike Johnson will not be in charge on the first day of the next Congress unless, on that day, he is voted as Speaker. At that point, the Speaker then swears everyone in. If he is not voted Speaker, he has no power. Oh, they like to do a ceremony in the House to make it look formal, but it’s no different than a new president coming in. The old one doesn’t have to be there.
