Okay, fair enough.

Please just don’t fall into the intellectual trap I’ve seen demonstrated by some of the AGW proponents. One expert on NPR declared “it’s not that we Americans are addicted to oil, it’s that we’re addicted to energy”, and went on to demand that we use less energy… no matter what the source, or how clean.

There’s a word for using very little energy: Poverty. We should not be aspiring to it.

I agree with that. However, there is also a word for wasting it unnecessarily to your own detriment, that would be prodigal.

I am all for switching to nuclear, solar and wind. I have said this many times and we would create millions of American jobs doing it, while staunching the flow of money to people who want to kill us.

It is a win for the economy as the programs long term pay for themselves and pump dollars into American jobs. It is a win for our foreign policy, I am all for telling our friends the Saudis or Chavez et all to go to hell, and it is a win for future generations.
