It does work with the M1 iMac. I have one with a touch ID keyboard. I got the extended version with numeric keypad.

I had a brain fart, he’s still on one of the last Intel machines.

Also, like a lot of engineers his main problem is that he never actually learned to type, so he’s constantly hunting and pecking without looking at the output. I’m hoping having proper keycaps will fix that.
