re: #353 Wendell Zurkowitz (slave to the waffle light)

I was widely picked on and considered gay because I was not into muscle cars, team sports or other “manly” pursuits. And I had no girlfriend, nor did I brag about real or imagined encounters with them.

I was certainly interested in girls, I was just too socially inept to be able to do anything about it (until about my junior year in college).

I came from a very poor neighborhood, but because I scored unusually high on some aptitude tests I ended up in a pretty affluent school for elementary.

Let’s just say I encountered quite a few budding Mitt Romneys, and I fought a few of them - which got me tossed back into public schools, where I was much more comfortable.
