That was Hurricane Mitch - in 1998. And we helped plenty. And have been a big help before and since.

They are not ungrateful …. at least most of ‘em. I spent three years there, returning in late 2006. I think Mel snuck up on them. I was there during the election and I don’t think anybody had any idea he was a Chavez in the making.

I pray (well, OK, I don’t pray much … but I fervently hope) that they’ve seen the last of that guy.
