Is the Director of the FBI one of the positions where the Senate must approve the candidate?

IIRC most of the appointed Federal positions have to resign at the onset of a new administration. If so, I expect Comeys resignation to be accepted

Yeah, I’m pretty sure. It’s not like Chief of Staff or something like that. FBI directors I think have ten year terms fwiw.
